Irwin Schiff Speaks at the Toledo
Law School
Irwin Schiff¹s
appearance and offer at the University of Toledo Law School on January 26th
certainly indicates Schiff’s adamant belief that there is no law requiring
anyone to pay income taxes. The two quarter page ads that appeared on pages 9
and 11 of the campus newspaper at the University of Toledo were prepared by the
student organization that brought Schiff to campus. Schiff had nothing to do
with there preparation
The ads (plus
about 1,000 flyers posted on bulletin boards all over campus) clearly informed
the faculty and students about Schiff¹s offer to pay a $50,000 "finders fee" to
anyone who could produce a law, at any of his scheduled lectures, that requires
"Any One To Pay Income Taxes."
Apart from Mr.
Schiff¹s two general campus lectures on Thursday, January 25, 2001, he lectured
for three hours at the Law School on Friday, January 26, 2001 from 9:00 AM to
1:30 PM.
Following each
of his lectures, Schiff allowed at least one hour for questions and challenges
to his views on the income tax. However,
no law professor or law student
appeared at any of Mr. Schiff¹s appearances to claim the $50,000 reward or to
challenge Schiff’ with respect to his views on the Federal income tax.
